Natural Remedies, Symptoms, Diet for ADHD/ADD

These natural remedies for ADHD/ADD support children as well as adults. Symptoms of ADHD include dysfunctional behaviors. They include poor concentration, difficulty in school (or at work), impulsiveness, and erratic emotions.

Medications

Normally, medications are used for ADHD patients. They are often made of stimulants, therefore exhausting the nervous system. Furthermore, they may stunt the growth of a child. Check the warnings and side effects that come with the medications. You may want to use natural remedies for ADHD while lowering medications slowly. Never quit a medication without talking with your doctor. As the symptoms improve, reduce medications.

Natural Treatment

Diet plays a big part in ADHD/ADD natural treatment(see below). Behavior modification is a great natural treatment as well. Also, there are many natural remedies for ADHD/ADD. You can use flower essences or essential oils along with the following supplements. We will be presenting here herbs, cell salts to support the nervous system, and homeopathic remedies. The most successful healing combination includes homeopathic remedies and nervine herbs. Specific herbs calm overall tension.

Homeopathy for ADHD

Homeopathy is one of the best natural remedies for ADHD/ADD. This is because homeopathic remedies are very specific to each child (or adult). They are also compatible with conventional treatment. One challenge in finding the right homeopathic remedy for a specific child with ADHD is discovering their personality underneath the “drug facade.” You can still see improvement in a child while on medication. Another challenge is reducing drugs slowly, one at a time, under your doctor’s supervision. It can be done.

Improvement in the symptoms of ADHD may be seen in minutes, hours, days, weeks, or months. You may need to try several homeopathic remedies for ADHD. Sometimes it’s necessary to use several remedies at the same time. And, use them for 1 to 2 months each. Gratefully, homeopathic remedies are inexpensive.

Diet for ADHD

Diet is really important to an ADHD/ADD sufferer. If the whole family changes their diet, it is a great support to those with ADHD. To start, refer to Dr. Christopher’s Mucusless Diet. Be prepared for resistance the first couple of weeks as change is hard. You will see improvement soon thereafter.

Next, remember to lower sugar and other carbohydrates as they create nervousness and instability in both children and adults. Find other foods that are sweet naturally, such as carrots, grapes, apples, etc.

Finally, look at the oils in the diet. Your body needs good oils such as fish and flax oil. Make sure you are not having too much of the rancid, bad oils, like those in French fries; it can cause mental weakness and worsen the problem. In summary, avoid sugar and bad oils and fats, and make sure there are enough good oils in a healthy diet for ADHD.

Supplements are helpful when used along with the Natural Healing Protocol below. DHA – a fish oil extract, is very helpful, but must be taken over a several-month period. Also use a good Vitamin B-complex that feeds the nerves as well as the cell salts below.

Natural Healing Protocol — First, choose an herb. Then add a cell salt or cell salt solution. Finally, choose the homeopathic remedy that fits your situation best. Combining supplements will do more to support your body’s ability to function properly than using just one. Your ability to heal will depend on the severity and length of time symptoms have been present.
