PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) Natural Remedies

Try these PMS natural remedies to not only relieve symptoms, but for long lasting women’s health.

PMS symptoms may occur before or during a woman’s period.
Symptoms may include:

  • Weight gain or bloating
  • Moodiness, including anxiety or depression
  • Hormonal headaches
  • Backaches, cramps
  • Breast tenderness
  • Difficulty concentrating or memory loss
  • Loss of interest in usual activities
  • Sugar and food cravings

PMS is associated with women’s hormonal health. The menstrual cycle is normally 28 to 30 days long and symptoms often show up a week before menstrual bleeding. Some symptoms may last all month long. Woman may also experience frigidity, the lack of sexual interest.

A diet rich in animal fats and fast food may contribute to poor hormonal health. Other symptoms are cause by chemical hormone therapies including birth control methods.

Natural remedies for PMS like herbs, cell salts, and homeopathy combined with a change of diet and removing chemical hormones can be very helpful.

Natural Healing Protocol — First, choose an herb. Then add a cell salt or cell salt solution. Finally, choose the homeopathic remedy that fits your situation best. Combining supplements will do more to support your body’s ability to function properly than using just one. Your ability to heal will depend on the severity and length of time symptoms have been present.

Herbs for PMS

Herbs are plants valued for their specific strengthening/ tonifying properties.

Vitex – this herb is often the only one needed. Many women have found success with only 3 capsules a day. Do not use during pregnancy. Modern research shows Vitex is also helpful for depression, ovarian problems, and endometriosis. It often increases sex drive.

Blessed thistle – when Vitex is not working well. Many women use 2 capsules twice a day when the liver is sluggish. Symptoms are irritability, anger, and grumpiness; May be used along with Vitex.
