Phlebitis Natural Remedies

Try these phlebitis natural remedies. Phlebitis can be a superficial inflammation of the veins of mostly the legs but can also be found in the pelvis area. Most people don’t know they have this problem until there is redness or swelling. It can be the result of an infection locally or somewhere else in the body.

Deep vein thrombosis is phlebitis of the deep veins that causes blood clots. This can cause pain, swelling, fevers or chills. Early signs can be a brown staining of the skin on the lower legs. Unchecked the clots can cause a stroke or even death.

Causes of phlebitis can come from smoking, a physical injury, birth control pills or other unknown factors.

Medical treatments are to reduce inflammation in superficial phlebitis with NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). Deep vein thrombosis may be treated with heparin-like drugs, aspirin, or Warfarin. They may be life saving over the short term, but only treats the symptoms and may have toxicity and side effects associated. Diagnosis is important to rule out other problems and avoid blood clots.

Natural perspectives include supporting normal vein health for prevention. We use supplements, cell salts, homeopathics and herbs as well as improve diet. The most important dietary concern for phlebitis is to stop smoking as well as removing alcohol, coffee, black tea. Regular moderate exercise is important for superficial phlebitis. Check with your doctor for deep vein thrombosis.

Supplements valuable to help phlebitis:

Vitamin C with Bioflavonoids (Amla C)
Vitamin E is a blood thinner
Zinc (50 mg per day) strengthens blood veins
1 to 2 Tablespoons of Flax fiber

Natural Healing Protocol — First, choose an herb. Then add a cell salt or cell salt solution. Finally, choose the homeopathic remedy that fits your situation best. Combining supplements will do more to support your body’s ability to function properly than using just one. Your ability to heal will depend on the severity and length of time symptoms have been present.
